Before I even listened to the talk (but knew it was here), I found myself in a very interesting conversation with a student who had grown up through a major construction boom in her home country and had come to the US determined to study architecture. A year into it, it seemed clear that architecture wasn’t really the right direction. Her anxiety, however, was less about finding something new to replace architecture than it was the realization that becoming specialized in anything meant closing doors on multiple interests. Emily Wapnick’s talk couldn’t have shown up at a better time. Many thanks for sharing.
